Built for real work

Your terminal workflow.
Not just a remote connection.

Bring your shell, full-screen tools, and coding agents along. Mons combines a real terminal with persistent sessions and controls made for mobile work.

Your agent, in a real terminal

Keep your coding agent in a persistent host terminal. GhosttyKit and Metal render the shell and full-screen terminal apps on your phone.

Persistent sessions, built in

Mons CLI includes an isolated Herdr runtime, so no separate multiplexer install is needed. You can also attach to your existing external Herdr or tmux sessions.

Scan. Pair. Connect.

Scan a one-time QR code or paste a pairing link. Authorize your device without entering an SSH password or putting both devices on the same Wi-Fi.

Connections that adapt

Pair Managed connections support wired, LAN, Tailnet, and P2P paths, with WSS relay fallback. Mons checks candidate availability before changing routes.

Keys made for real work

Keep Ctrl, Esc, Tab, and arrow keys within reach. Use modifier combinations, customize shortcuts, or work with a hardware keyboard.

Bring images into your workflow

Send screenshots and images from the camera, Photos, image files, or clipboard to your host, then use them in your terminal workflow.

Native on iPhone and iPad

Browse session previews in a grid or list, use the iPad sidebar, and choose Light, Dark, or System appearance independently of your terminal theme.

Your host. Your trust.

Verify SSH host fingerprints before trusting a new host. SSH passwords, private keys, and paired-device keys are stored in the device's Keychain.

Get started

Three steps to your working session.

Install the app, prepare your host, and pair. Your host must stay awake, online, and reachable.

  1. Get Mons on iPhone or iPad

Install Apple TestFlight, then open the Mons invitation on your device.

Public beta. TestFlight lists compatible devices and current build availability.

  2. Install on your host

Run as your normal user on your Mac or Linux host, without sudo:

    curl -fsSL https://mons.cc/install.sh | sh

Installs the CLI and user-level Host service, not SSH. Linux requires a systemd user manager. macOS previews are ad-hoc signed and not notarized; check platform requirements.

  3. Enable SSH, then pair

    Enable SSH access, then run:

    mons pair

In the app, choose Easy Pair and scan the QR code or paste the link. Your devices do not need the same Wi-Fi.

Keep going

Set up once. Keep working.

Open a persistent session with mons open work on your host, then choose work in the app. Leave the terminal view without stopping the session; return from either device when you need it.

A plain SSH shell is not a persistent session. Pairing authorizes your device; it does not enable the host's SSH server.
